Even though I use the word "I" (twice already here) a lot, there were a number of others who helped me tremendously and it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge them.

First and foremost, a close friend who lived on the "other" side of the street where we grew up. She helped me with editing and her suggestions were pretty much spot on. Her name is Virginia Guido and I am so grateful for her editing prowess. She was great and very helpful and she always was careful to stop me from run-on sentences and I know she is going to cringe when she reads this one. Luv ya.

Of course, I must acknowledge my Significant Other, We have had our ups and downs, but she has been there when I needed her for the last 25+ years, so she has definitely earned the word “significant”.

I obviously also need to include my therapist. When I first found her, I was a wreck. She helped me tremendously and a lot of what is in here came out of therapy. Thanks.

The two images, of the ESB and the sunset in La Jolla, are mine. As I mention in the body of the book, I worked for about five years in the ESB. In 1986, we had a party for the Centennial and this is one of my favorite pics. It was taken from the 78th floor and you can see the Statue, surrounded by fireworks. Sadly, you can also see the WTC buildings, one of which I also spent some time in and around in Downtown Manhattan during my professional career. Besides working in the ESB, I also spent a number of years working in Midtown Manhattan around it, so both buildings were an important part of my life, encompassing numerous forks on the East Coast.

The other picture was taken 2 weeks after we lost our fur baby Lucky. We went to La Jolla to watch a sunset and try and take our minds off of our loss. We sat in one of the gazebos along the shoreline and were lucky (accidental double entendre, I talk about them in my intro) to have gotten a pretty good one. I took numerous photos and this is one of my favorites. I am using this picture to encapsulate the various forks I encountered on the West Coast.

There is a story about the main picture of the actual roads. I Googled "Fork in the Road" and this image came up. I wanted to use it, but I didn't know where to get it and use it legally. I found the entity using it and called them. I am sure it was not a request they usually got, but the person on the other end of the line put me on hold and then came back and told me they had gotten it on Shutterstock. Turns out I had used them a while back in my "Web" days. Unfortunately, when I entered the same search as above, I got 201 pages. I started searching and got tired, so I called them. It was then that I was informed you can do an image search using an image you already have. Wow! I uploaded the pic I had, and in a second, there was my image, ready to be licensed. So all 3 pics are legit. I guess I should have asked them if I could mention them, but I didn't and I don't want to bother to call them again. In any event, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

If indeed this goes to publication, I will also have other people responsible for the look of the book jacket. I have already received a number of excellent suggestions.

These are the people responsible for helping me to make this look pretty. Of course, I need to acknowledge all the people, either mentioned or not, who accompanied me along my journey. They are the ones who made this possible. For the most part, I was merely along for the ride.
